Ellie Jane Goulding born 30th December 1986, Hereford England. Tracey Goulding Summers is her mother. Her father Arthur Goulding comes from a funeral home-based family. Goulding is the child of two with a brother called Alex an older sister named Isabel and a second sister called Jordan. Alex, Goulding's brother, is a bass player. Also, he is a Hereford musician. At the age of a young girl she was surrounded by her mom who inspired her to become music teacher. The clarinet was her first instrument as she was nine years old. At the age of 14, she started writing songs. She didn't actually begin writing songs until her college period. Goulding's interest in electronica music began when she was studying for her education. The interest she had in electronic music was first noticed when she studied. Through MySpace Goulding was in contacts with Frankmusik. He helped her to create a folktronica-style of music. Jamie Lillywhite noticed her and became her manager. In the following years, he was asked to take over the duties of A.&R in a talent contest. Lillywhite connected her with the Music producer Starsmith. Starsmith helped in November 2009 to publish Under the Sheets, her debut single. He later worked on Lights. It didn't matter that Under the Sheets was released on Neon Gold Records (an indie label) She already was signed to Polydor Records. In 2005, she designed and launched a line of beauty products known as Meaningful Beauty with Jean-Louis Sebagh for the company Guthy-Renker. In the same year she introduced the Cindy Crawford Home Collection a furniture line.
